Este trabalho procura mostra a importância do Problema dos Universais na Idade Média em especial na figura de Pedro Abelardo e como ele buscou resolver essa questão gerada por Platão e Aristóteles e transmitida ao período medieval pelos comentário de Severino Boécio na obra Isagoge de Porfírio. Analisando a complexidade deste tema, vemos a necessidade de uma compreensão mais clara e coesa deste assunto, tendo em vista o pouco esclarecimento a respeito da filosofia medieval no que se refere ao problema dos universais. Desta forma através de pesquisas, leituras de obras de Aristóteles, Severino Boécio e Pedro Abelardo, tentarei mostra de forma suscita como essa problemática ganhou forma e destaque no período medieval e como Pedro Abelardo desenvolve um Realismo Moderado para responder as teses de seus mestres Roscelino com o Nominalismo e Guilherme de Champeaux com o Realismo exagerado. Por fim, compreender o problema dos universais na Idade Média é poder dá resposta a muitas de nossas indagações na contemporaneidade e vê nos filósofos medievais como Pedro Abelardo o grande contributo para a construção o saber moderno e atual.
