O Departamento de Informação e Informática - DATASUS é o órgão do Ministério da Saúde que centraliza e disponibiliza (pelo site: ) os dados dos principais sistemas nacionais de informação em saúde: o Sistema de Informação sobre Mortalidade (SIM); o Sistema de Informações sobre Nascidos Vivos (SINASC), o Sistema de Informação de Agravos de Notificação (SINAN), o Sistema de Informações Hospitalares (SIH-SUS), o Sistema de Informações Ambulatoriais do SUS (SIA-SUS) e o Sistema de Informação da Atenção Básica (SIAB). Serão utilizados dados do SINAN (para as doenças transmissíveis); do SIH-SUS para as informações de consultas médicas (indicador de cobertura de saúde) e internações hospitalares, hospitais e disponibilidade de leitos (indicadores de disponibilidade de infra-estrutura de saúde); SIAB (indicador de cobertura de saúde). Nos bancos de dados do IBGE serão obtidos dados censitários para composição de variáveis e indicadores populacionais, socioeconomicos e geográficos.
