Na Antiguidade clássica, os gêneros

Na Antiguidade clássica, os gêneros eram definidos de acordo com os elementos: forma (prosa ou verso), composição (expositiva, representativa ou mista) e conteúdo (subjetivo ou objetivo).
Iniciou-se na Grécia Clássica a primeira manifestação dessas divisões, sendo conhecidas por serem: Líricas, Épicas ou Dramáticas. Vale ressaltar que nessa época todos os textos de ordem literária eram escritas em versos. Por isso, poucos anos depois, adicionara o gênero Narrativo
