As medidas da atividade presente na tireoide e no corpo inteiro dos trabalhadores, dos estagiários e dos visitantes são efetuadas pelo Laboratório de Monitoração In Vivo, LMIV. Para este propósito, o LMIV possui dois sistemas de contagens com detectores de iodeto de sódio ativado com tálio NaI(Tl) para medir gamas de energias altas, que são: o contador de corpo inteiro e o contador de tireoide.
